Mission

Virtuous Friends Foundation (“VFF”) is a humanitarian organization with a vision of serving as a vehicle to put donors in touch with grass-roots programs that engender compassion and altruism in society and relieve suffering. To achieve this goal, VFF intends to fund and foster such programs by making small grants to organizations or institutions for educational, health care, and other charitable purposes. VFF’s other activities include those that promote charitable giving, such as lectures and workshops intended to promote a culture of charitable giving.

The programs VFF are particularly interested in include those designed to relieve the distressed and the underprivileged, health care services and care for the infirm and the elderly, and combating community deterioration. Special consideration will be given to distributions and grants to charitable and educational organizations which are organized and operated to help underprivileged or needy people to improve themselves or to relieve human suffering.

VFF believes that grassroots groups are a key to solving the intractable problems of poverty, disease, and homelessness. Grassroots groups have the flexibility and efficiency to quickly mobilize and address needs promptly, with funds going directly to the needed services rather than overhead and administration. VFF intends to bridge the gap between those who can offer financial support and grassroots groups that can make effective use of that support. We intend to help donors overcome the barriers to grassroots grant-making by identifying worthy organizations and moving funds at minimal cost.
